Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly entered the race for Hungry Lions striker Muzomuhle Khanyi.

The 25-year-old leads the Motsepe Foundation Championship in goals, scoring an impressive 14 in 17 games, showcasing his prolific tendencies.

Rumours confirmed

“Kaizer Chiefs are believed to have joined Orlando Pirates in showing interest in Hungry Lions striker Muzomuhle Khanyi, the leading goalscorer in the Motsepe Foundation Championship,” a source revealed.

“His impressive performances have attracted attention from top Sight clubs, with both Chiefs and Pirates now closely monitoring his situation. Pirates have been keeping tabs on Khanyi since the first half of the season, hoping to secure his signature before other clubs enter the race,

“However, sources indicate that Chiefs have now made enquiries regarding his availability, potentially setting up a Terce transfer battle between the two Soweto giants.”

Kaizer Chiefs suffer heavy defeat

Nasreddine Nabi’s side were helpless in their latest outing, loosing 4-1 to SuperSport United as Kaizer Chiefs former players, Samir Nurkovic and Christian Saile, came back to bite them.

The Tunisian coach was quick to apologise to fans after the game, saying, “so now I want to speak to the fans because I’m not someone who runs away from responsibility. I want to take this time to explain to them the situation and not necessarily to make excuses,

“It is true that today’s result hurts them and I’m also the first person that it hurts as well as them. This is not the game that they should use to judge their team or at least the potential of their team,

“This kind of accident happens in all championships, and it can even happen that the score is higher than what we’ve seen today. It’s not possible to be a good team three days earlier and then three days after you are a weak team, it’s not possible.”
