Baroka FC chairman Khurishi Mphahlele has explained why he never doubted that Marshall Munetsi would end up in the big leagues after spending a season with them.
Munetsi recently joined Wolverhampton Wanderers on a three-and-a-half-year deal with an option to extend by one more year.
He penned a deal with the English Premier League [EPL] club from French side Stade Reims.
Wolves reportedly paid over R400 million [€20 million] for Munetsi, who still had two years remaining on contract at Reims
The Zimbabwean international spent the 2016/17 season in Limpopo with the Motsepe Foundation Championship side while he was on a loan deal from Orlando Pirates. The 28-year-old has never looked back since then, spending the past five years in France.

“He was a good boy. He was playing about three positions, as a box-to-box midfielder, as a number six, and he can also play as a centre-back,” Mphahlele told FARPost.

“So he was mastering those positions and he was a hard worker. He never complained about anything.”
WHY MARSHALL MUNETSI LEFT A LASTING IMPRESSION AT BAROKA FC
Mphahlele says Munetsi took his job seriously and never picked games to perform, regardless of coming from a big club like Pirates.
“We could see that he works hard and he is not a boy who would give you half his performance during a match,” added the Baroka boss. “Each and every game was important for him and that really showed us that he would go far.
“We were in the Nnational First Division when he came here. That year he helped us a lot. We ended up gaining promotion with him. Unfortunately, he was not our player and we couldn’t go with him to the Premier Division.”
